Male rape and arousal

Being a survivor of CSA which I documented in an earlier blog I’ve decided to write about a subject that so many people are suffering in silence and feeling confused as I speak. I hope by writing this it will help any victims .As rape is rape. I’ve chosen to write about male rape as it’s a taboo subject as so many many men keep silent that the numbers would be truly staggering if people spoke out. I understand the reason why they havent and I’ve also chosen male rape for a key reason. The body of a male reacts differently. For any male rape survivor please listen when I say …Before you beat yourself up yourself for one more minute, stop! it’s important to know and also remember that your sexual organs do not have a brain. They cannot distinguish between a rapist and the gentle touch of a lover /partner . They simply react to stimulation the way they were physically designed to respond. If you climaxed or had some other sexual response to the rape, this does not mean that you enjoyed it. Developing an erection or ejaculating during a sexually abusive experience is one of the most distressing and also confusing aspects of male rape. Men/boys. Arousal and the way our bodies respond to touch is not something that can be easily controlled. Most teenage boys (also male adults) will have experienced unwanted and unintentional arousal.A good example of this is the vibrations from riding on a bus.Stimulating the genitals via ( pressure) ( touching) (rubbing) can easily cause a male to have an erection even when it’s not wanted or unintended. When a male is raped by another male it can lead to a straight man/boy questioning their own sexuality. This is NOT the case all that arousal means is that the body or indeed man’s body reacted in a normal way, and the abuser took advantage of their knowledge and power. The area around the anus is extremely sensitive this is because it has such a rich supply of nerves. If a sexual assault involves some form of anal touching or penetration , then it is extremely common for the male body to respond by developing an erection or ejaculating. Many people have heard of the prostate gland via campaigns about ( prostate cancer ♋️ ). The prostate gland plays a major part in male arousal, it is located next to the bladder, when the anus is penetrated and the prostate gland is pressured or stimulated it typically produces an erection. This can even be the cause of embarrassment at a GP examination of the prostate. It doesn’t mean you are gay or have the hots for your Doctor. It’s important to remember the body is responding naturally.people who sexually abuse men and boys use their knowledge of male bodies to deliberately cause an erection or ejaculation. The reason they do this is clear. It is to cause embarrassment and confuse the victim into thinking that “they enjoyed it”. Knowing that the victim will probably be less likely to tell anyone about the abuse due to feelings of shame. The combination of pain and confusion can leave men with extremely powerful feelings of disgust and shame. It is important to remember that healthy sexual arousal and sexual abuse are very different things. I hope by writing ✍️ this today I’ve given you a better way of making sense of male rape. And if you are a survivor it will perhaps open the door for you to talk to some about everything bottled up inside. REMEMBER it was NOT your fault. ❤️‍🩹 Joe- Young 5/10/22
